Industries designs and builds industrial wastewater evaporators, dryer systems, and thermal/fluid process equipment. We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to own the electrical design side of our equipment — panel design, machine wiring, schematics, and component selection — and to be the go-to person who can take a piece of process equipment from concept to a fully wired, working machine. Why this role This is a foundational hire: you'll be the electrical design expertise behind our evaporators and process equipment, working together with the mechanical design team to build complete electro-mechanical machines. You'll own panel design, schematics, and machine electrical design end-to-end, and be the person production and service turn to when something needs to be diagnosed or fixed.In this role you will:
Design and document electrical systems for ENCON equipment — panel layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, and power distribution. Specify and select electrical components (motors, relays, contactors, sensors, VFDs, wiring, disconnects, protective devices) for reliable, cost-effective builds. Partner closely with mechanical engineering from concept through detailed design so electrical and mechanical systems come together as one integrated machine. Troubleshoot electrical issues on the shop floor and, occasionally, in the field — tracing wiring, reading schematics, and resolving problems quickly. Ensure electrical designs meet applicable codes and standards (UL 508A, NFPA 70/NEC). Build a working knowledge of controls concepts (PLCs, HMIs, automation architecture) so you can design clean, controls-ready electrical systems and collaborate effectively with controls engineering. Key responsibilities Electrical Design & Documentation Design control panel layouts, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams for evaporators and related process equipment (AutoCAD Electrical & Mechanical preferred). Develop power distribution plans and size components (breakers, disconnects, wire/cable, motor controls) to match equipment loads. Produce and maintain manufacturing-ready electrical drawings, BOMs, and wiring schedules that build right the first time. Electro-Mechanical Machine Development Work side-by-side with mechanical engineers and designers to develop complete electro-mechanical machines — from concept layout through detailed design. Coordinate panel placement, wireways, conduit routing, and component locations with the mechanical design of the equipment. Review mechanical designs for electrical feasibility (access, clearances, heat, vibration) and flag issues early. Manufacturing & Shop Floor Support Provide hands-on electrical support during panel build, machine wiring, and assembly. Troubleshoot electrical issues during build, test, and commissioning, and work with production to resolve them quickly. Support Factory Acceptance Testing and, occasionally, field service or commissioning with electrical troubleshooting expertise. Compliance & Quality Ensure electrical designs comply withUL 508A, NFPA 70
(NEC), and other applicable codes and standards. Work with the quality team on inspections, validations, and functional tests to confirm electrical system compliance and reliability. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the mechanical design team, controls engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and service to deliver complete, reliable equipment. Provide technical input to sales and product development on electrical design, customizations, and project-specific solutions. Share electrical design knowledge with the broader engineering team and support continuous improvement of electrical standards and templates. Qualifications Required Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. 7+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial equipment, capital equipment, or custom machinery — panel design, schematics, and machine wiring. Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical (or equivalent) for schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams. Strong working knowledge of power distribution, motor control circuits, VFDs, relays, and industrial panel design. Hands-on troubleshooting ability using electrical schematics and diagnostic tools. Working knowledge of controls concepts (PLC/HMI basics, I/O, control architecture) sufficient to design controls-ready systems and collaborate with controls engineers. Knowledge ofUL 508A, NFPA 70
(NEC), and general OSHA compliance. Proven ability to own electrical design work independently and collaborate closely with mechanical engineering. Preferred Experience in thermal/fluid process equipment (evaporators, dryers, heat exchangers) and/or wastewater treatment equipment. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus). Experience with instrumentation for temperature, pressure, flow, and level control. UL 508A certification or related electrical certifications. What success looks like in the first 6 months Electrical designs (schematics, panel layouts, BOMs) are clear, accurate, and build right the first time. Established a smooth, collaborative workflow with the mechanical design team for developing new electro-mechanical machines. Resolved recurring shop-floor electrical issues with practical design improvements. Built trusted working relationships with mechanical design, controls engineering, production, and service.Pay:
