Job Description
Overview A confidential power generation organization is hiring an Instrumentation & Controls Supervisor to lead maintenance and reliability efforts at a large-scale steam power facility. This role oversees union I&C technicians in a 24/7 operational environment and is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable performance of instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems across the plant. What You'll Be Doing Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Instrumentation & Controls technicians in a unionized plant environment Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, and protective relays Support plant reliability through system condition assessments, outage planning, and root cause investigations Manage DCS-related activities including troubleshooting and operational support across legacy systems Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Management teams to maintain equipment readiness and plant safety Utilize CMMS systems to document work orders, maintenance activities, and compliance requirements Lead troubleshooting efforts on aging infrastructure with limited or outdated documentation What We're Looking For 5+ years of supervisory experience leading a union workforce in a 24/7 industrial or power generation environment Hands-on experience with Emerson Ovation, GE Mark VI, Siemens T3000, or similar DCS platforms Strong technical expertise in instrumentation, controls, protective relays, and industrial electrical systems 10+ years of hands-on experience in power generation, refinery, chemical plant, or heavy industrial maintenance environments Experience with relay testing, schematics interpretation, transformers, breakers, transmitters, and vibration monitoring systems Familiarity with
NERC CIP, LOTO
procedures, and industrial safety protocols Experience using Infor EAM or similar CMMS platforms Ability to work in physically demanding industrial environments including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions Prior experience in traditional steam plants, coal-fired facilities, or refineries is highly preferredPay:
