Engineer Test Engineering Delaware, OH, United States Job Description Position Summary:
The Sr. Test Engineer drives the test strategy and execution in line with the new product development process from beginning to end. This role will focus on Single Phase UPS products - Firmware, Hardware and it's integration & testing at sub-system/system/product level. The test Engineer will ensure the bi-directional traceability from requirements to test results/acceptance. Create the required documents in all phases of test cycle. Will drive the test automation and will ensure the products is certified as per certification standards/compliance (e.g.
UL, EMI/EMC/ IEC
etc.) and enabling it's quality launch in the product. This role will be part of IT Systems Business Unit and will focus on verification and validation of Single Phase UPS products. Candidate will be part of Test Engineering Team and will be located onsite at Vertiv's Delaware, OH location.
Responsibilities:
Review the requirement documents, develop test scenarios, test cases for the product, hardware-software integration and document the test reports with relevant test management tools. E.g. DVT plans, Test setup procedures using Gitlab, Testmo, Rally, JIRA or equivalent tools Generate overall engineering test plan and its execution Support and development of the Compliance Test plans (e.g.
UL, RE, CE, EMI/EMC/ICE
etc. Actively pursue Test Automation using AI/ Advanced tools. Manage CapEx Projects related to the Lab and testing equipment. Manage Functional, Compliance & Reliability Testing schedule. Perform Root cause analysis of the defects found past DVT to improve the future test plans Recommend and lead technological strategies, developments and improvements around system, software and hardware test Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables. Work with compliance leaders to help in achieving the certification for the products as per compliance like
UL, IEC, EMI/EMC
standards Implement 5S and Lab organizational methods to keep Lab "Tour Ready" for customer visits. Promote a culture of technology and intellectual property leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering 6-9 years of test engineering experience with working knowledge of Validation & Verification in product-based environments which involves electrical-electronics-based modules, system and product level testing. Extensive testing experience in firmware, hardware and system integrity for electrical-electronics products specifically UPS products, batteries, charger, testing of power electronics, automated control-based systems, communication protocols Experience in developing and advocating test strategy and test platforms Hands on experience on AC/DC low and high voltage embedded-electrical systems preferably but not limited to UPS, power supplies, AC/DC Converters, chargers, batteries. Exposure to standard engineering tools for requirement management and analysis, test management, defect tracking tools, configuration management etc. Hands-on knowledge in power/electrical engineering; AC and DC power
