Job Description

This position will be responsible to provide functional support to the Engineering, Maintenance and Production Teams, ensuring Continuous Improvement of our processes using innovative design applications in new process improvement flow. Understanding of the total process flow will be key to the success of this position, along with the knowledge of how quality must be built into the process to ensure a quality part to our customer. Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as designated):
Design and Development:
Develop, implement, and maintain electrical control systems and components for powder metal manufacturing processes. Design electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software. Specify and select electrical components and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
PLC Programming and Troubleshooting:
Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC systems to control various aspects of the manufacturing process. Develop and optimize PLC code for efficient operation and integration with other control systems. Implement and maintain Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems for operator interaction and data monitoring.
Maintenance and Support:
Perform regular maintenance and calibration of electrical control systems to ensure optimal performance. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to maintenance and production teams. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical system failures or malfunctions.
Project Management:
Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, production managers, and quality assurance personnel. Prepare technical documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and user manuals.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all electrical systems and components comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses related to electrical control systems. Participate in safety audits and implement recommendations for improvement. o All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in powder metal manufacturing.
  • Extensive experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Experience with HMI development and integration.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used for PLCs.
  • Knowledge of electrical design software.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations (e.
g., NEC, OSHA).
