Responsibilities Responsibilities:
Contributes to electrcial team for one or more New Product Development (NPD) projects Designs electrical circuit schematics for test boards, prototypes, and new product designs Independantly and creatively develops ideas and solutions to electrical and system design problems Validates, tests, and debugs circuit boards Develops printed circuit board (PCB) layout of complex multi-layer circuit board designs Completes PCB Gerber file generation, ordering, and design file coordination with fabrication house Completes surface mount component rework of printed circuit boards and component replacement as needed Runs and documents electrical and system tests
Qualifications Qualifications:
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics Knowledge of digital/analog circuit design and communication protocols such as
SPI, UART, I2C
Solid interpersonal skills in design collaboration with the electrical engineering team Creative Problem Solving Skills Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools Strong organizational skills Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer or other similar software Knowledge of the
PCB/PCBA
manufacturing process Knowledge of electrical design implementation to meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards
Education and Experience Required:
Must be pursuing an Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or other relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET-accredited program, and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year before beginning this co-op rotation. #
