4+ years required Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience designing electrical schematics, control panels, and technical documentation for industrial and automation systems. The ideal candidate is proficient in EPLAN , can independently develop accurate electrical drawings, and understands industrial electrical design standards and requirements. This is an on-site position in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Candidates should be able to reliably commute to the work location. An engineering degree is preferred, but relevant professional experience and technical skills are the primary requirements. Essential Functions Create single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams for industrial and automation systems. Design electrical control panels, including component selection, panel layouts, cable routing, and wiring documentation. Use EPLAN to develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and complete engineering documentation packages. Prepare accurate electrical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), templates, symbols, and project files. Develop and maintain organized electronic documentation repositories, ensuring files are accurate, consistent, and audit-ready. Apply standard electrical drafting practices and ensure designs comply with applicable CE, IEC, and internal standards. Review electrical designs for safety, performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Support testing, quality inspections, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and documentation. Coordinate with internal engineering, manufacturing, customers, and vendors to clarify technical requirements and resolve design issues. Incorporate feedback from manufacturing teams, suppliers, and auditors to improve drawing quality and documentation accuracy. Independently produce electrical design documentation and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in electrical design, electrical drafting, or electrical engineering for industrial or automation applications. Professional experience using EPLAN is preferred. Experience creating electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts. Knowledge of electrical components, control panel design, cable routing, and Bills of Materials. Ability to interpret technical requirements and produce accurate electrical documentation independently. Familiarity with applicable electrical design standards and documentation practices. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage project documentation. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. Experience with SolidWorks Electrical . Experience with industrial automation, electrical control systems, and panel design. Familiarity with CE and IEC standards and regulatory documentation. Experience collaborating with manufacturing teams, vendors, and customers on electrical design projects. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced, detail-oriented Electrical Designer who can take ownership of electrical drawings and documentation from initial requirements through project execution. They should be proficient in EPLAN, comfortable working independently, and able to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams in an on-site industrial environment.
