This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates based in the greater Chicago area , with occasional site visits and client meetings as needed. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of electrical design projects while collaborating with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural professionals from concept through construction .
What You'll Do:
Design building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency/life safety systems Perform electrical load calculations, panel schedules, and equipment sizing Develop detailed construction documents using Revit Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines Support coordination of low-voltage systems , including fire alarm, telecom, security, and AV Assist with specifications, RFIs, submittals, and construction administration Ensure designs comply with NEC, energy codes, and local jurisdiction requirements Participate in occasional site visits and client meetings throughout the greater Chicago area
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field 5+ years of MEP electrical design experience Strong proficiency with Revit ; AutoCAD experience is a plus Solid experience with power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems Working knowledge of NEC and applicable building/energy codes Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment PE license Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills Why Consider This Opportunity?
