Own and manage multiple diagnostics related software components (features) pertaining to transmission and driveline diagnostics controls. The software components are written in c-code and used across multiple product lines and multiple hardware designs in terms of the transmissions and driveline components. This includes 10-speed and 8 speed automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, transfer cases, rear axle lockers, and front wheel-end lockers. You'll have... Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field 4+ years experience in software development in C/C++ 4+ years of experience of embedded controls development in automatic transmission and/or driveline controls Even better, you may have ... Desire to own, continuously improve, and expand the capability of SW features used across all vehicle programs, platforms and powertrains in Ford Experience with change management tools such as IBM ClearCase, Git, SVN Experience with calibration and data visualization tools such as ATI Vision, INCA/MDA, Vector CANalyzer Experience in requirements-based test development in virtual and physical environments Strong communication and outreach/networking skills. This position is a salary grades 6 and 7 and ranges from $85,400-$166,600. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week. #LI-Hybrid #LI-JS1 What you'll do... Manage changes and requirements; Coordinate validation with HIL and calibration teams; Act as SPOC for issue triage and resolution; Bookshelf and release updates using software development and software quality processes, including all necessary deliverables (e.g. test reports, DVMs, cal guides, etc) Design and implement controls software using c-programming language Develop and execute desktop unit tests to fully verify the functionality of the software with respect to requirements. Use desktop vehicle simulation environment, HILs and vehicles to test and validate software designs. Use issue management tools (JIRA) to manage and document software feature change requirements, emphasizing customer (SP&I, calibration, program) needs and timing considerations Participate in, and communicate with, cross-functional teams to optimize solutions weighing software complexity, tuneability, testability and Ford SW modeling guidelines
