The Electrical Design Engineer will design, develop, test, and support electrical systems and industrial hardware solutions that enhance product performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability. This role applies sound electrical engineering principles to new product development and existing product improvements, while supporting cost optimization, design standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Design and develop electrical systems, including technical analysis, component selection, prototype testing, and troubleshooting. Create and maintain electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring lists, and bills of materials; experience with Altium is preferred. Support existing product lines by evaluating performance, resolving technical issues, and identifying opportunities to improve quality and reliability. Ensure electrical designs meet applicable safety, reliability, sustainability, and manufacturability requirements. Partner with cross-functional teams to implement product enhancements that address customer, market, and business needs. Contribute technical ideas and solutions that support research, development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution required. Minimum of two (2) years of electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; research and development experience is preferred. Preferred Skills and Abilities Experience with electronic circuit schematic capture, simulation tools, and PCB layout software. Hands-on experience with prototyping, soldering, SMT components, and through-hole components. Working knowledge of AC/DC power electronics and serial communication protocols. Ability to evaluate and select appropriate electrical components, discrete components, and integrated hardware modules. Experience with C, C++, Linux, and MicroC/OS is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, troubleshooting, and debugging skills. Experience with Stage-Gate or similar new product development processes. Ability to manage multiple projects and milestones while maintaining a high standard of quality. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project and business objectives. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Production environment.
