Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to troubleshoot inverter systems that fail production testing or are returned from the field. You will be responsible for performing root cause analysis on electrical, manufacturing, and quality issues, and developing corrective actions and repair instructions. This role involves partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineering teams to resolve product issues and support sustaining engineering and production validation efforts. Responsibilities Troubleshoot inverter systems and perform root cause analysis on electrical, manufacturing, and quality issues. Read and analyze schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical designs. Use oscilloscopes, probes, and lab equipment to diagnose failures. Develop corrective actions and repair instructions. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Design Engineering teams to resolve product issues. Support sustaining engineering and production validation efforts. Document findings and drive long-term corrective actions to prevent recurring failures. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related electronics discipline. 3+ years of electrical engineering experience required; 5+ years preferred. Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, PCBs, and electronic assemblies. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB layouts. Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, probes, multimeters, and other electrical test equipment. Experience performing root cause analysis and failure investigations. Experience supporting products in a manufacturing, production, sustaining engineering, or validation environment. Experience with PCB design tools, preferably Altium. Strong understanding of electronic hardware and manufacturing processes. Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with contract manufacturers and production support activities preferred. Proficiency with Excel; experience using Python or MATLAB for data analysis is a plus. Power electronics, inverter, converter, or industrial electronics experience preferred. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory and manufacturing environment. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) is a plus. Aerospace, defense, medical device, automotive, startup, or high-tech manufacturing experience preferred. Work Environment This position is 100% onsite at our Fountain Inn, SC facility, offering a hands-on laboratory and manufacturing environment. You will work in a fast-paced production support setting with frequent interaction with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams. The role involves a mix of independent troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration, with daily use of electrical lab equipment and testing. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Inn, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $62.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
