Entry-Level Electrical Engineer (Manufacturing)Job Summary We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to support automation, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects across multiple manufacturing facilities. This is a hands-on opportunity for a recent engineering graduate who wants to build a career in manufacturing. The selected candidate will receive training and mentorship in PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, equipment troubleshooting, project management, and manufacturing operations.
Travel:
Approximately 75%, including travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Key Responsibilities Support engineering projects focused on production efficiency, equipment reliability, safety, and manufacturing performance. Assist with the design, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of PLC and HMI-based control systems. Receive training on Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms. Support the installation and integration of motors, variable frequency drives, sensors, HMIs, and other automation equipment. Assist with equipment upgrades, system commissioning, testing, and validation. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and automation issues alongside senior engineers and plant maintenance teams. Evaluate manufacturing workflows and production processes to identify improvement opportunities. Help create and maintain electrical drawings, technical documentation, operating procedures, and project records. Collect and analyze system performance data to identify reliability issues and reduce equipment downtime. Assist with project cost estimates, schedules, status updates, and capital planning. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, equipment vendors, and suppliers. Support preventative maintenance and modernization efforts for legacy control systems. Ensure equipment and control systems comply with applicable safety requirements, electrical codes, and industry standards. Maintain a safe working environment and follow all environmental, health, and safety procedures. QualificationsRequired Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Open to recent graduates and candidates with limited professional engineering experience. Willing and able to travel approximately 75%, including travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Strong interest in manufacturing, electrical controls, automation, and hands-on problem-solving. Basic understanding of electrical systems, controls, or automation through coursework, internships, co-ops, labs, or personal projects. Ability to interpret or learn to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with plant teams, engineers, vendors, and suppliers. Preferred, but Not Required Internship, co-op, or academic project experience involving manufacturing, controls, automation, robotics, or electrical systems. Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, motors, VFDs, sensors, or industrial automation equipment. Familiarity with Siemens or Allen-Bradley PLC platforms. Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software. Exposure to PLC programming through coursework or hands-on projects.
