You'll learn industry standards, drafting best practices, and how to apply your CAD skills to real engineering challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:
Creating electrical drawings for lighting, power, communications, security, and fire detection systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) Developing entry-level drawings using AutoCAD and other design tools under the guidance of sr. team members Learning and applying procedures for design development and construction documentation Supporting the team with various drafting and design tasks as needed What We're Looking For You don't need years of experience—just the right foundation and a willingness to learn.Required:
Associate degree, technical school certificate, or equivalent experience Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD) Familiarity with document or database management A positive attitude and desire to contribute to an employee‑owned culture Preferred (but not required): 1+ year of experience with electrical lighting or power systems Exposure to architectural/engineering environments Interest in sustainable design or LEED Experience with MicroStation is a plus Ideal Traits Organized and detail‑oriented Eager to take on increasing responsibility as you grow Strong communicator and team player About the Work You'll be drafting for various utility clients, primarily supporting substation projects—an essential part of modernizing and maintaining the electrical grid.Top Skills You'll Use & Develop:
