Job Description

Controls Engineer responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning PLC/HMI control systems for custom machinery and automation equipment. Job Requirements 3+ years of controls engineering experience, preferably within custom machinery or special machine building Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs Experience with RSLogix 5000 and Studio 5000 Experience with FactoryTalk HMI platforms Experience with servo and motion control systems Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) Experience with industrial networking, including EtherNet/IP Experience developing electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent applicable experience Ability to travel for on-site startup and commissioning as required Preferred Skills Omron PLC programming experience Keyence vision system experience Keyence sensor system experience Experience with custom or special-purpose automated machinery Job Responsibilities Design and develop PLC and HMI control systems for custom machinery from concept through commissioning Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC systems Develop applications using Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, and FactoryTalk Program and support Omron PLC platforms when required Program and support Keyence vision and sensor systems on applicable projects Develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts Configure and integrate servo systems, motion controls, VFDs, and industrial networks Perform on-site machinery startup, debugging, troubleshooting, and commissioning Support controls integration with mechanical and electrical system designs Create and maintain control narratives, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and controls documentation
