Job Description

I'm working with a growing custom equipment manufacturer in the Mason area that is looking to add a Controls Engineer to its team. This is a hands-on role working on engineered-to-order industrial machinery, with involvement across electrical design, PLC/HMI programming and modifications, machine debug, testing, commissioning, and startup. The team primarily works with Beckhoff controls, so TwinCAT experience would be a strong advantage, although they are open to strong Controls Engineers coming from other PLC platforms who can learn the system. What You'll Be Doing PLC programming, modifications, and troubleshooting using Beckhoff TwinCAT Electrical controls design, schematics, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical HMI development and modifications Debugging, testing, commissioning, and startup of custom machinery Troubleshooting electrical and controls issues directly on equipment Developing electrical BOMs and supporting component selection/procurement Supporting machine build, installation, and service teams Producing technical documentation and machine manuals Working closely with Project Managers and other engineering resources throughout projects Identifying and implementing controls improvements What They're Looking For Strong hands-on PLC and HMI programming experience Beckhoff TwinCAT / Structured Text experience is highly preferred, but strong experience with other PLC platforms will be considered Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, including electrical schematics and panel design Background with custom machinery, automation equipment, or machine building Experience debugging, testing, commissioning, and starting up equipment Ability to troubleshoot both controls software and electrical hardware Exposure to SCADA systems such as Ignition is a plus Someone comfortable working closely with engineering, project, and build teams in a hands-on environment Open on years of experience — overall controls knowledge and ability are more important than hitting a specific number of years

Full-time, on-site with some flexibility around daily start/end times
Travel:
Approximately 5%
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
