Senior Controls Engineer - PLC/HMI Automation Langhorne, PA $90,000-$120,000 per year Full-Time | On-Site Achilles is recruiting a Senior Controls Engineer for an OEM that designs and builds custom automated machinery used in demanding manufacturing environments. This is a hands-on controls role for an engineer who can develop PLC and HMI applications, troubleshoot complex machine systems, and take ownership of controls integration on custom equipment. The right person will have strong Allen-Bradley experience and be comfortable working at the intersection of PLC programming, HMI development, servos, machine vision, industrial networks, and electrical troubleshooting. What You'll Do Develop PLC programs for custom automated machinery Program using Rockwell Studio 5000 and Connected Components Workbench Develop and maintain machine HMI applications Work with FactoryTalk View SE/ME and other HMI platforms Configure and integrate servo motion systems Support machine-level electrical and controls integration Troubleshoot PLC, electrical, communication, motion, and automation issues Configure machine vision equipment such as Cognex and Keyence systems Interface controls systems with SQL databases and external devices Support machine commissioning, testing, and continuous improvement Work closely with mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, assembly, and service teams What We're Looking For 4+ years of hands-on machine PLC programming experience Strong Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controls background Proficiency with Studio 5000 and ladder logic Experience setting up and configuring servo systems such as Kinetix 5500 Strong electrical troubleshooting skills Understanding of industrial networking, including Ethernet/IP and TCP/IP Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Helpful Experience Siemens Step 7 Siemens WinCC FactoryTalk View Visual Basic .NET or C# SQL databases Cognex or Keyence machine vision Pharmaceutical, packaging, or other custom automated machinery This is not a building-controls or facilities automation position.
