Job Description Main Duties Perform basic designs for substations and produce models and drawings following industry standards and guidelines under the direction of more experienced personnel. Perform electrical design tasks which regularly require the application of fundamental engineering concepts. Reference information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. Create intelligent and standardized equipment and structure models which will be used to create substations. Assist engineers in preparing input for general purpose computer programs. Compile data and computes quantities. Assist in ensuring compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications. Utilize LiDAR survey scans to support field verification efforts, and generate models based on field conditions. Perform routine checking and/or verification of lower-level staff 's work for technical quality, accuracy and compliance with customer, company, and electrical discipline standards. Desired Education, Experience and Training Vocational School Certificate or Associates Degree. 1+ years of experience in CAD design, with preference in electrical or substation/switchyard projects. Knowledgeable in 2D CADD platforms (AutoCAD and MicroStation) and 3D Parametric modeling platforms (Inventor or Solidworks). Ability to take marked drawings and produce complete and correct CADD drawings, following the project/client drawing standards. Ability to complete tasks in accordance with project procedures and applicable codes and/or standards and have the ability to discuss routine technical problems and communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities. Basic written and verbal communication skills in English. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
