Job Description

Our client, a leading Restaurant Technology & Automation Innovation company, is seeking a PLC Programmer / Controls Engineer to join their team. As a PLC Programmer / Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Automation Engineering team supporting prototype development and equipment automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range:
$70-80/hour (based on experience) What's the Job? Develop, implement, and debug ladder logic programs for Automation Direct PLCs using ProductivitySuite software. Program and troubleshoot motion systems including stepper motors, gantries, sensors, and automated equipment. Own and maintain electrical BOMs, controls documentation, and wiring diagrams for prototype systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to specify, install, wire, test, and optimize electrical and automation components. Support reliability improvements through hands-on troubleshooting, system testing, and continuous process enhancements. What's Needed? 3+ years of PLC programming experience with the ability to develop ladder logic programs from scratch. Experience programming and debugging motion control systems, including stepper motors, sensors, and multi-axis automation equipment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to build, wire, and troubleshoot panels and low/high voltage systems. Ability to read, modify, and create electrical wiring diagrams and controls documentation. Experience with Automation Direct PLCs (ProductivitySuite) preferred; MQTT, data logging, recipe management, or food equipment automation experience is a plus.
Additional Details:
6-month contract opportunity with an initial 1-month evaluation period. Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week onsite at REDLabs within Yum! Headquarters. Optional overtime available, typically 5-10 hours per week. No overnight travel required. Restaurant, QSR, food equipment, or automation industry experience is highly preferred.
