We are seeking a skilled Field Support Specialist to join a prominent manufacturing company in New Haven, CT . This full-time position is perfect for a technical expert who excels at resolving equipment issues, collaborating with clients, and traveling to various locations. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in field support or equipment maintenance , as well as a solid foundation in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and customer service competencies. Primary Responsibilities Install, maintain, diagnose, and restore intricate electromechanical manufacturing machinery at client sites. Interpret and follow electrical blueprints encompassing high-voltage systems ranging from 220V to 440V, low-voltage systems from 12V to 24V, and integrated electrical systems. Utilize electrical diagrams and a multimeter to resolve voltage, current, resistance, and affiliated electrical concerns. Tackle problems with PLC-operated systems, involving power supplies, inputs, outputs, switches, sensors, and operator interfaces. Identify and address issues related to servo drives, motors, and motion-control setups. Decipher pneumatic blueprints accurately. Dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex electromechanical components using conventional hand and power tools. Master the fundamentals of CNC lathe controls and programming, such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar platforms. Support magazine bar-feeding units and CNC lathe part-processing applications. Maintain professional communication with end users, OEM representatives, dealers, and other key customer contacts. Provide installation guidance and operator training for equipment. Record service calls, repairs, client interactions, and technical data in digital customer files. Exhibit a professional demeanor before, during, and after each client visit. Travel overnight for approximately 50%-75% of the time. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 2-5 years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, equipment installation, or related technical fields Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics Sound understanding of high- and low-voltage electrical systems Advanced skills in using a multimeter Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and motion-control systems Ability to decipher pneumatic blueprints Strong mechanical acumen and advanced troubleshooting abilities Proficient in using common hand and power tools Basic computer literacy and capacity to maintain accurate digital service records Effective verbal and written communication skills Superior customer service and interpersonal aptitude Willingness and capability to travel overnight 50%-75% of the time Preferred Qualifications Experience with servicing CNC machinery, bar-feeding equipment, or automated manufacturing systems Familiarity with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar CNC controls Prior exposure to installing equipment and delivering training in a manufacturing setting
