AV Engineer/Commissioner Job Summary The AV Engineer/Commissioner is responsible for installation and troubleshooting of audio-visual systems in corporate, government, and educational settings. This role requires expertise in AV design, signal flow, structural integrity, control/DSP programming, and networking. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct site surveys and report environmental considerations to the design team. Stage and install multi-room AV systems, coordinating with trades and IT personnel. Train field specialists on new products and AV standards. Ensure installations align with the Statement of Work (SOW) and provide updates to the Project Manager. Utilize room commissioning toolkits for complex installations. Work with programmers to install control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX). Debug control systems, configure video scalers and DSP settings. Deliver user and technical training on installed systems. Submit as-built drawings, configuration backups, and site photos. Lead project implementations and supervise field specialists. Escalate client issues and provide timely notifications. Maintain professionalism and technical knowledge in IP networking. Qualifications 4-6 years of experience in professional AV installations. Valid driver's license with a clean record. Expertise in audio and video conferencing system installations. Knowledge of VoIP and analog phone systems.

Certifications preferred:

Crestron Digital Media, Biamp Tesira, Infocomm

CTS-I, OSHA.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work in high-pressure environments and travel frequently. Physical Requirements Lift up to 75 lbs, work on ladders, and operate tools. Ability to travel extensively. Work outside normal business hours when needed.
