Our work spans unmanned aircraft, counter-UAS, autonomy, communications, payload integration, maritime employment, high-rate manufacturing, and U.S. Government testing and fielding. The engineering team will work closely with F-Drones technical personnel in Europe while establishing configuration-controlled U.S. products, domestic supply-chain alternatives, and new U.S.-developed capabilities. Position Summary UDD Tech USA is seeking a Lead Test & Integration Engineer to prove that U.S.-configured systems work as designed, remain configuration-controlled, and are technically ready before they reach a customer, Government test event, exercise, or competition. This is a field-intensive role responsible for system-level integration, verification, pre-event readiness, failure analysis, and customer-facing technical execution. Key Responsibilities Own system-level integration, verification, validation, and technical readiness across UDD Tech USA products. Develop master test plans, requirements traceability, acceptance criteria, test cards, and evidence packages for each U.S. product configuration. Create standardized procedures for ground testing, flight testing, communications testing, payload testing, autonomy testing, end-of-line functional testing, and customer acceptance. Establish formal pre-competition and pre-deployment readiness reviews so configuration, training, equipment, and integration problems are identified before Government events. Rehearse Government mission profiles before deployment and verify aircraft, ground stations, radios, batteries, payloads, firmware, spares, tools, and support equipment before shipment. Maintain configuration discipline so the system tested is the system demonstrated, delivered, or accepted. Lead integration of third-party radios, payloads, autonomy software, effects, sensors, and Government-furnished equipment. Manage discrepancies, failure reports, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and regression testing with the engineering and quality teams. Develop test reports and technical evidence suitable for Government customers, engineering reviews, production-readiness activities, and source-selection support. Coordinate range requirements, safety documentation, spectrum/test dependencies, and event technical readiness. Support customer training, fielding, troubleshooting, and onsite acceptance activities. Lead after-action reviews and ensure field lessons result in engineering, production, or procedural changes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or a comparable technical discipline. 7+ years of experience in test engineering, systems integration, flight test, UAS, aerospace, defense, robotics, or complex electromechanical systems. Demonstrated ability to diagnose multidisciplinary hardware/software problems under schedule pressure. Strong technical documentation, test-planning, data-analysis, and reporting skills. Comfort working directly with operators, technicians, engineers, Government customers, and production teams. Ability to work irregular hours during flight tests, field exercises, and customer events. Ability and willingness to travel extensively, domestically and internationally, for periods of up to two weeks. Preferred Qualifications UAS flight-test, developmental test, operational test, or range experience. DoD demonstration, exercise, or acquisition-test experience. Weapons, counter-UAS, autonomy, communications, or maritime integration test experience. FAA Part 107 or other relevant UAS/operator qualification. Range-safety, flight-safety, spectrum, or test-conduct experience. Experience conducting Government or customer acceptance testing and formal after-action processes. Travel and Field Operations This is a hands-on defense engineering role. Domestic and international travel is required, including travel to Europe and to U.S. Government exercises, demonstrations, test events, customer evaluations, and onsite training. Individual trips may last up to two weeks and may involve military installations, test ranges, austere field locations, or maritime sites. Export Control and Government Access UDD Tech USA develops and manufactures systems subject to U.S. export-control and Government-contracting requirements. Candidates must be eligible to access technical information and facilities required for their assigned duties under applicable U.S. law and must be able to obtain any customer, installation, range, or program access required for the position. Operating Environment UDD operates at the intersection of rapid product development and high-rate defense manufacturing. These roles require engineers who are comfortable working at a design workstation, on a production floor, at a flight range, and alongside operators during a Government exercise. The objective is not simply to build prototypes, but to develop systems that can be manufactured at scale, repeatedly pass acceptance testing, and perform reliably in demanding operational environments.
