POSITIONSUMMARY
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled power electronics engineer to have a leadership role in our product development and commercialization programs. This role is ideal for a focused, hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to make a significant technical impact on the power electronics industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the commercialization of a new and innovative low-loss, bidirectional power semiconductor architecture by defining and developing reference design kits, evaluation boards, device characterization boards, applications notes, white papers and supporting customer technical engagements.
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for power electronics platform development, applications engineering and customer technical enablement.
- Work closely with third party ecosystem partners and suppliers to enable advanced power electronics platform solutions based on the company's power semiconductors.
- Support and enable customer technical evaluation and accelerate product designs and commercialization.
- Perform silicon validation and characterization to support data sheet development and product commercialization.
- Define and develop reference design kits and evaluation boards.
- Create application notes, white papers and other technical documents to promote the Company's products with customers.
- Prepare materials and demonstration systems for and participate in industry trade shows, customer and partner meetings to promote the company's products.
- Participate in and contribute to the company's product and platform roadmaps.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have a track record that demonstrates:
- Experience creating product documentation, applications notes, white papers and similar collateral.
- Product / system modeling, validation and characterization.
- Customer acumen and a strong knowledge of power electronics markets, including AI data centers, energy infrastructure and automotive applications.
- Experience with ISO, IATF and AEC-Q qualification requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of power electronics and power semiconductors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver power electronics systems that meet specified performance and cost criteria within the project budget and schedule.
- Highly entrepreneurial self-starter.
- Hands-on in problem solving, defining objectives and producing deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates strong conceptual thinking skills, quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with strong relationship development, project management, problem solving and change management skills.
- Ability to define, implement, and lead complex power electronics projects.
- Highly dynamic, disciplined, process centric, attention to detail along with project management & execution skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
CORESKILLS,EXPERIENCEANDEDUCATION
- Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of industry experience in power electronics product development, commercialization and applications engineering.
- Thorough knowledge of power semiconductors with an emphasis on MOSFETs and bipolar devices such as IGBTs and BJTs.
- Deep understanding of power electronics systems and power conversion topologies, such as, buck, boost and inverter circuit topologies.
- Experienced with CAD simulation, modeling, design and layout software tools.
- Strong conceptual thinking skills, quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and characterization of semiconductors and their applications.
- General familiarity with power device packaging, best practices and manufacturability.
- Knowledge of active and passive thermal modeling and design of active and passive cooling solutions.
- General applications knowledge of semiconductor markets such as EV, VFDs, solid state circuit protection, motor drives.
TRAVEL
The position is based in Austin, Texas, but modest travel will be required.
