This is a full-time, direct hire position. The role will be 100% onsite at the client's Grapevine location. This is a Hardware failure analysis role. The Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and resolving hardware-related issues in our products. This individual will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to conduct detailed failure analyses, provide root cause analysis (RCA), and contribute to the improvement of product design and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with failure analysis techniques, and a solid understanding of electronics and hardware systems.
Responsibilities:
Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation:
Perform in-depth hardware failure analysis using various tools and techniques, such as visual inspection, electrical testing, X-ray inspection, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thermal analysis. Identify root causes of hardware failures and document findings.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to communicate failure findings and collaborate on solutions. Provide clear and concise failure reports, including detailed analyses and recommendations for corrective actions.
Testing & Evaluation:
Design and execute failure replication tests, environmental stress tests, and electrical or mechanical tests to replicate issues. Document results and offer data-driven insights to improve hardware robustness and performance.
Trend Analysis & Reporting:
Track and analyze trends in hardware failures to identify potential systemic issues or recurring problems. Generate and present regular reports on failure analysis findings to management and other stakeholders.
Quality Improvement:
Recommend design, process, and material improvements based on failure analysis data. Work with the product development team to ensure that new products are designed with improved reliability and lower failure rates.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of all failure analysis cases, testing protocols, methodologies, and conclusions. Ensure that all documentation complies with company and industry standards.
Support Manufacturing & Field Issues:
Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams in troubleshooting and resolving hardware failures in produced products or in the field. Assist with return material authorization (RMA) investigations.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer/Server repair or other related. 1-2 years of experience with failure analysis. Comprehensive computer knowledge is essential. Ability to use electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes & multi-meters, etc.) Remain current on developments in field(s) of expertise, regulatory requirements, and a comprehensive knowledge of the Clients products, markets, and objectives as well as industry trends. Ability to reach schematics. Microsoft Office and Excel proficiency.
