Job Title:
Energy Marshal Job Description The Energy Marshal plays a critical role in safeguarding electrical systems during construction and commissioning, particularly in complex environments such as data centers. This position focuses on enforcing electrical safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and coordinating all activities related to energization and de-energization. The Energy Marshal serves as a subject matter expert on energy isolation procedures and supports project teams in planning and executing high-risk electrical work safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Oversee and enforce electrical safety protocols, with a strong emphasis on Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for all relevant activities. Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and regulations, including NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements. Review technical documentation related to electrical systems and energy isolation to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to safety standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections of electrical safety practices and LOTO procedures to identify and correct deficiencies. Provide expert guidance and direction to project teams on energy isolation procedures and safe work practices for electrical systems. Coordinate energization and de-energization activities with construction, commissioning, and operations stakeholders to ensure safe and orderly execution. Participate actively in high-risk activity planning meetings related to energy isolation and electrical work, offering technical and safety input. Maintain, update, and verify documentation such as single-line drawings and other electrical schematics to reflect current field conditions. Collaborate with electrical construction teams in a data center environment to support safe installation, testing, and commissioning of systems. Promote a quality-minded approach to all electrical safety and construction activities, fostering a strong culture of safety and compliance. Essential Skills At least 10 years of electrical contracting experience. Strong knowledge of electrical safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. In-depth understanding ofNFPA 70E
electrical safety requirements. Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to electrical work and workplace safety. Hands-on experience with electrical construction activities, preferably in complex or mission-critical environments. Ability to review, interpret, and maintain electrical documentation, including single-line drawings and related schematics. Proven ability to coordinate energization and de-energization activities with multiple stakeholders. Quality-minded approach with strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in data center environments or other mission-critical facilities. Demonstrated ability to participate in and contribute to high-risk activity planning meetings. Strong communication skills to provide clear guidance and feedback to construction and commissioning teams. Ability to conduct audits and inspections and document findings in a clear, organized manner. Capacity to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams focused on safety and quality. Work Environment This role supports electrical construction and commissioning activities in a data center environment. The schedule typically follows a combination of four 10-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts, providing extended coverage during critical project phases. The Energy Marshal works closely with construction, commissioning, and operations teams in an active jobsite setting, focusing on safe execution of electrical work and strict adherence to established safety standards and procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moncks Corner, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $42.00/hr.
