Job Description

Description The Deductions Specialist will be responsible for researching, resolving, and disputing customer deductions. This representative will be responsible for wholesale deductions, communicating chargeback information to Field Sales Managers and tracking deduction statuses. This position will require accessing customer web portals and communicating with wholesale customers. This position is not limited to deductions and the Specialist may be assigned to other duties as needed. Key Responsibilities Responsible for customer deductions, reconciliations, resolutions, and disputes Obtain deduction backups from wholesale customers (direct or via portal) Research, identify and resolve approved deductions Verify validity of customer deductions against approved programs Request proof of delivery and bill of ladings from freight companies to support shortage/damage claims Dispute unauthorized deductions and pursue paybacks Establish and maintain working relationships with finance and the sales team Influence Sales Team to resolve promotion related deductions in a timely manner Identify and resolve deductions in a timely and efficient manner while following proper procedures Escalate any slow-moving deductions to the Director of Sales or VP of Sales Requirements Bachelor's degree in business/accounting preferred or related field or equivalent with 2-5 years
CPG/FMCG
trade deduction management experience. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, specifically spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Dynamics ERP and advanced Excel skills a plus) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, develop relationships with teammates, customers, and sales team, have a positive attitude, and good listening skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; written and verbal Advanced organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize; detail and results oriented Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team environment
