This role supports both client-facing engineering projects and internal technical leadership, ensuring studies are accurate, defensible, and aligned with industry standards. The position works closely with field service teams, project managers, and clients to deliver actionable engineering recommendations that improve safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Preference will be given to local candidates, although remote work may be considered for the right candidate. What You'll Do Power System Studies Lead and perform detailed electrical studies, including: Arc flash hazard analysis and labeling programs Protection coordination studies and time-current curve development Short-circuit and load flow analysis Develop, maintain, and validate system models using study software such as ETAP or SKM Review and interpret drawings, equipment data, and field information to build accurate models Act as a technical authority for arc flash methodology, modeling assumptions, and coordination philosophy Review study results for accuracy, defensibility, and compliance with applicable codes and standards Mentor junior engineers and review their study outputs and reports Contribute to internal engineering standards, templates, and study procedures Communicate technical findings to clients in clear, practical terms Provide mitigation strategies and engineering recommendations to reduce arc flash risk and improve coordination Support field teams with data collection guidance and interpretation of study results Participate in project scoping, scheduling, and proposal development for study work Prepare comprehensive study reports including modeling assumptions, methodology, and recommendations Produce arc flash labels and documentation packages compliant with regulatory standards Maintain traceable engineering records and revision control Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng. or PE) or eligibility to obtain 7+ years of experience performing power system studies Demonstrated expertise in arc flash analysis and protection coordination Strong proficiency in ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or equivalent modeling tools Solid understanding of protection devices, relay settings, and coordination strategies Strong technical writing and client communication skills Preferred Experience Experience working with utilities, heavy industrial facilities, or critical infrastructure Familiarity with field testing and commissioning practices Experience reviewing relay settings or protection schemes Knowledge of applicable electrical safety and engineering standards (CSA, IEEE, NFPA where applicable) Why Join Vector Power Work with a technical team focused on real-world power system solutions Opportunities to expand your technical knowledge in substations and protection systems Competitive compensation and benefits Professional development opportunities A collaborative culture built on safety, quality, and practical execution
