Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, results‑driven Project Manager to lead complex heavy civil and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires strong technical expertise, disciplined project controls, and the ability to manage multiple teams, scopes, and priorities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment and consistently delivers high‑quality work on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with state, county, and municipal standards. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution for heavy civil and commercial projects. Lead internal and external teams including superintendents, project engineers, subcontractors, and consultants. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, state, and local agencies. Conduct regular site visits and project meetings to monitor progress, quality, and safety. Heavy Civil Operations Manage field operations for grading, base, utilities (water/sewer/storm), paving, concrete structures, drainage systems, erosion control, traffic control, and striping. Coordinate inspections, permits, and compliance with state, county, and city requirements. Direct subcontractor activities across all civil and commercial scopes. Project Controls & Financial Management Develop and manage detailed project budgets, cost forecasts, and resource plans. Perform quantity takeoffs, project estimation, and cost analysis for new and active projects. Track cost codes, change orders, production rates, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain accurate schedules and ensure critical milestones are met. Documentation & Risk Management Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation. Identify and mitigate risks, delays, and scope changes proactively. Ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant. Leadership & Culture Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance. Mentor junior team members and support professional development. Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and strong communication. Qualifications 7-10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil and/or commercial construction project management. Proven success delivering ground‑up, infrastructure, roadway, utility, or site development projects. Strong knowledge of civil construction means and methods, project controls, contracts, and scheduling. Proficiency with project management tools. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. OSHA 30 preferred Physical Requirements Ability to travel to job sites and walk active construction projects.
