Scope & Decision Rights Owns:
Development and maintenance of Installation Work Packages (IWPs), including scope breakdown, sequencing, and inclusion of all required construction inputs (drawings, materials, tools, safety, and quality requirements).Supports:
Preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, materials coordination, QA/QC planning, and field execution strategies aligned with AWP principles.Recommends/Prepares:
IWP templates, workface planning standards, constraint tracking logs, and process improvements to support GTI's evolving AWP program.Escalates:
Identified constraints, including missing engineering, unavailable materials, access limitations, or sequencing conflicts, to the Project Manager, Superintendent, or Preconstruction leadership. 3) Essential Duties and Standards Develop and maintain Installation Work Packages (IWPs) for electrical scopes, including duct banks, conduit systems, cable installation, terminations, and equipment setting. Break down project scope into logical, executable work steps aligned with field sequencing and Path of Construction (PoC). Ensure IWPs include all required components, including drawings, material lists, tools and equipment, safety requirements, and quality inspection checkpoints. Coordinate with Procurement and Materials Management to verify material availability prior to IWP release. Collaborate with QA/QC to incorporate inspection and test requirements into IWPs. Interface with Superintendents and Foremen to validate constructability, sequencing, and usability of work packages. Track and maintain IWP status, including readiness, release, and field progress updates. Identify and communicate constraints impacting execution, including engineering, materials, access, and permitting. Support alignment of Construction Work Packages (CWPs), Engineering Work Packages (EWPs), and IWPs. Participate in planning and coordination meetings with internal teams and trade partners. Maintain organized documentation within project platforms such as Procore or ACC. Contribute to the continuous improvement of GTI's Workface Planning and AWP processes. 4) Critical Competencies (must demonstrate) Strong understanding of electrical construction practices, including conduit installation, cable routing, and equipment installation. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and installation details. Working knowledge or exposure to Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and Workface Planning (WFP) principles. Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to break down complex scope into actionable work steps. Attention to detail to ensure IWPs are complete, accurate, and field-ready. Effective communication skills to coordinate between office and field teams. Proficiency in digital tools, including Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management platforms (Procore, ACC). Problem-solving mindset focused on identifying and mitigating execution constraints. 5) Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of construction experience, preferably within electrical or industrial construction. Field experience with electrical installation methods, including underground, conduit, and equipment work. Basic familiarity with construction sequencing and planning processes. Exposure to AWP, Workface Planning, or similar planning methodologies preferred but not required. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Experience with construction software tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, and document management systems. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. 6) Performance Measure Buckets Work Package Readiness- Percentage of IWPs released with all required inputs (drawings, materials, constraints cleared).
