Director of Engineering Huntington Beach, CA Job Details Full-time $165,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Vision insurance Paid sick time Qualifications Vendor relationship building Engineering process optimization Team management Manufacturing company experience Cross-functional communication Full Job Description We are looking for Director of Engineering in Huntington Beach Salary up to $165,000 We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager with a strong manufacturing background to lead and develop a team of 7-9 engineers, including NPI, tooling, and manufacturing engineers. This role requires a hands-on leader with a problem-solving mindset and an engaging personality who can drive process excellence, team performance, and operational success. Key Responsibilities Provide strong leadership and direction to engineering teams, setting clear expectations and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment Align engineering initiatives with broader business objectives to support organizational success Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to optimize engineering processes, efficiency, and product quality Oversee engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery, quality standards, and effective resource management Promote cross-functional collaboration, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Drive operational excellence through the development and tracking of KPIs and performance metrics Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure successful project outcomes Lead and manage NPI, tooling, and manufacturing engineering activities Provide technical guidance on cable and wire harness assembly processes, including molding, shielding, and termination Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and process optimization initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness Qualifications Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in a manufacturing environment (7-9 direct reports preferred) Strong background in manufacturing, NPI, tooling, and process engineering Experience with ERP systems Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on leadership style Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally What We're Looking For A collaborative leader with a positive, engaging personality A strategic thinker who can connect engineering efforts to business goals A results-driven professional focused on efficiency, quality, and team development Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023-06/22-088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdf The pay transparency policy is available here: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay-transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdf For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, the Company is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
