Chief Engineer Hilton Miami Beach is a highly anticipated new-build hotel inside a historic Art Deco building steps from Collins Park, the Miami Beach Convention Center, Collins Avenue, Lincoln Road, and South Beach. With playfully designed guest rooms, three dining outlets — Amador, Savant Rooftop Bar, and Haute Mess Cafe — two rooftop pools, and flexible meeting space, this flagship 289-room property is now building its team ahead of its December 2026 opening.

THE ROLE

The Chief Engineer leads all facilities, maintenance, and engineering operations for the property. This role is critical to ensuring the building's systems, life safety equipment, and physical assets remain fully operational, code-compliant, and Hilton-standard ready. This is a pre-opening hire — you'll help build this role from the ground up ahead of our December 2026 launch. Prior experience with a hotel opening is preferred for this hire.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Manage all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety/fire systems, elevators, pool equipment, and building automation.

▪ Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, kitchens, and back-of-house areas.

▪ Ensure full compliance with local building codes, fire/life safety regulations, and Hilton engineering and quality assurance standards.

▪ Lead sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives in line with Hilton's Travel with Purpose program.

▪ Lead the engineering department, including hiring, training, and scheduling maintenance staff and technicians.

▪ Respond to emergency maintenance issues and coordinate with contractors and vendors on major repairs or system failures.

▪ Be on call and available to respond to critical facility issues outside standard hours.

▪ Oversee pre-opening punch-list walk-throughs, systems commissioning, and turnover from construction to operations.

▪ Build the opening engineering team, including hiring ahead of launch.

▪ Coordinate initial capital equipment installation, testing, and warranty documentation with contractors and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

▪ Minimum 5+ years of engineering/facilities leadership experience; prior Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer experience in a full-service hotel preferred.

▪ Relevant technical certifications (EPA Universal, boiler/refrigeration licenses, etc.) preferred; local trade licensing as required.

Pay:

$85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
