Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our facilities and engineering operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and management of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across our manufacturing or industrial site. Your leadership will ensure that all facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong management capabilities, technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, and a passion for optimizing operational performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a safe and productive work environment. Duties Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and low/high voltage systems. Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance repair procedures aligned with safety regulations such as OSHA standards. Manage facilities maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, asset histories, and inventory levels effectively. Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems using schematics, electrical diagrams, and troubleshooting tools like ohmmeters. Coordinate project management activities for large-scale upgrades or installations of industrial equipment and systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations by conducting regular safety audits, training sessions, and maintaining detailed safety documentation. Manage facilities maintenance budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to maximize operational efficiency while minimizing downtime. Skills Proven management experience leading facilities or maintenance teams within industrial or manufacturing environments. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair, HVAC system repair, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), plumbing system maintenance, and industrial maintenance procedures. Strong understanding of schematics, engineering troubleshooting techniques, CMMS software proficiency, and maintenance repair procedures. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and best practices for facilities management. Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for reporting, documentation, and communication purposes. Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics. Effective team management skills with a focus on supervising experience in managing facilities maintenance teams. Ability to communicate fluently in English with excellent leadership qualities to motivate staff toward safety excellence and operational success.
