The company delivers clinical services to a national client footprint through a distributed provider network. Technology is the operating platform of the business, not a support function, and the company is funding a full modernization of that platform over the next twenty-four months. This is a build-and-run mandate. You will take ownership of an established technology operation, a funded roadmap, and direct executive sponsorship, and you will be accountable for scaling that into a durable engineering and technology organization. What You Will Own Full accountability for technology strategy, delivery, operations, and spend, reporting to the President. Replacement and implementation of the core clinical platform, including workflow design, data migration, and cutover. The integration layer connecting clinical systems, client systems, and internal applications, including HL7 and modern API-based interfaces.
The data platform:
warehouse, pipelines, and the analytics and business intelligence layer that leadership and clients depend on. Business systems, including CRM, productivity, identity, and document management. Information security and compliance operations, including annual certification and remediation against a recognized healthcare security framework. Vendor strategy and contract performance across the platform portfolio. Applied AI and workflow automation, evaluated on measured operational outcomes rather than pilots. Building and leading the internal engineering function, including team structure, hiring, and delivery model. The First Twelve Months Take ownership of the core platform decision and drive it to implementation on a committed timeline.
Establish the engineering function:
hiring plan, team structure, and delivery discipline. Establish a single operating view of technology cost, risk, and roadmap for the executive team. Close outstanding security and compliance remediation items ahead of the next certification cycle. Instrument and automate operational workflows to remove manual handling. What We Are Looking For Ten or more years in technology, including at least five leading a technology function with full budget and delivery accountability. Direct experience in healthcare or another regulated environment where uptime, data integrity, and audit posture are non-negotiable. Demonstrated ownership of a core platform migration from selection through cutover, including the failure modes. Track record building or scaling an internal engineering team, including hiring, structure, and delivery cadence. Working command of integration and data architecture. You do not need to write production code, but you must be able to evaluate the work. Vendor and contract negotiation experience with material commercial exposure. Executive presence, direct communication, and a bias toward decisions. Comfort with a short decision path and accountability directly to the executive team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with clinical imaging, EHR, or other core clinical workflow systems. Experience carrying a security certification through audit and recertification.
