Manager, Prompt Engineering

• Hybrid $250,000-300,000 base + bonus Overview We are seeking a Manager, Prompt Engineering
• Legal to play a key role within our Technology & Information Services function.

This position will lead the implementation of strategic initiatives focused on optimizing AI systems and workflows that support transactional legal practices. The role involves building and managing a high-performing team of legal engineers and knowledge engineers, while driving innovation in AI-enabled legal workflows. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of legal engineers and knowledge engineers, providing strategic direction, performance management, and professional development Establish and oversee prompt engineering standards, workflow templates, and quality assurance protocols for AI-powered tools across document review, legal research, and drafting workflows Execute a multi-year strategy for AI-enabled transactional workflows aligned with organizational priorities and user needs Translate transactional legal requirements into AI workflow specifications, prompt libraries, and structured knowledge repositories Provide strategic input on prioritization, resource allocation, and optimization of AI initiatives, balancing technical feasibility and business value Define and monitor KPIs, quality metrics, and user satisfaction indicators, using data insights to guide continuous improvement and scaling Ensure the protection and confidentiality of sensitive, privileged, and proprietary information Qualifications Deep expertise in AI systems and prompt engineering, with a demonstrated ability to optimize large language model outputs for accuracy and consistency Strong understanding of transactional legal practices, including diligence, drafting, and negotiation workflows Advanced knowledge engineering experience, including development of prompt libraries, workflow templates, and quality assurance frameworks Requirements Minimum of 8 years of experience in legal technology, knowledge management, or legal practice, including work with AI systems or workflow optimization Prior management experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Law, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred J.D. preferred
