Posting Details District Five is one of six districts of the New Mexico Department of Transportation. The boundaries of District Five include the following counties: Torrance, Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Taos, and San Juan. Employees in the District are responsible for providing the Maintenance, Construction, Engineering Support, and Business support measures of the Department to ensure the safety of the public as well as efficient highways. This job is located in the SF-District Five Office (Maintenance) As a valued new employee to NMDOT, you may be eligible to receive three (3) days of administrative leave upon your start date. Position at this level is accountable for planning, organizing, budgeting, resource allocation and review of resources in multiple functions, both engineering and non-engineering. The Engineering Manager position supports and takes direction from the Senior Manager Executive Engineer position. The primary focus of position at this level is the direction of engineering management. Directing daily district-wide activities of various large and complex organizational divisions and programs. The key responsibilities of the position are to provide engineering management of maintenance projects and issues across the District. Minimum Qualification Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant engineering discipline with licensure and five (5) years of engineering experience, one (1) of which must be as a Licensed Professional Engineer. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements All applicants for the Engineering Executive Manager classifications must be licensed in accordance with Engineering and Surveying Practice Act, Sections 61-23-1 through 61-23-32 NMSA 1978 and 16.39.1 through 16.39.8 NMAC, as applicable. Registration as a Professional Engineer by the NM Licensing Board. You must include your license or certificate number in the "License" section of the application form.
