2988839371-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Lonza is seeking an Associate Director, Automation to lead automation strategy and execution for AMER biopharma development and manufacturing. In this role, you will oversee design, integration, and optimization of automated and digital systems supporting GMP operations, ensuring reliability, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. You will drive continuous improvement, lead cross-functional projects with engineering, QA, IT, and global teams, and guide technology selection for new and existing facilities. This position offers the opportunity to shape advanced, patient-focused manufacturing solutions in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment. Responsibilities Lead automation strategy and implementation for AMER biopharma manufacturing operations Oversee design, integration, and optimization of automated systems and digital solutions Ensure GMP compliance, data integrity, and validation of automation platforms Collaborate with process, QA, IT, and global teams on tech transfer and scale-up Drive continuous improvement, reliability, and standardization of automation processes Manage vendor relationships, project timelines, and budgets for automation initiatives Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation engineers and specialists Support investigations, deviations, and CAPAs related to automated systems Contribute to global automation roadmap and technology selection Champion safety, quality, and patient-centric outcomes in all automation projects Required Skills Automation systems design and integration
