Raytheon's Antenna Design Department is seeking a Section Leader to support the antenna ranges located in McKinney, Texas. The department is responsible for full-scope antenna product solutions, spanning architecture trades, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of antenna systems and associated integrated system verification solutions. This position combines hands-on technical contributions with functional leadership. Approximately 85% of your time will be spent supporting engineering programs across the full development lifecycle of RF products. Depending on program needs, you may contribute through range design, technical leadership, supplier management, requirements development, architecture, or integration and test. The remaining 15% of your time will focus on leading a section of RF engineers by providing coaching, mentoring, career development, staffing support, and fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is an onsite role, located in Mckinney, Texas.What You Will Do:
Functional Leadership Performance management and career development activities Support hiring efforts (resume reviews, interviews, etc) Oversee the direct line management activities for the section including communication, performance management, career development, and talent acquisition Collaborate and communicate with other sections and teams Support department and directorate level initiatives Ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures Oversight of personnel issue resolution Manage employee timecards Adhere to and ensure alignment to Raytheon Technologies Values and Behaviors Work as a technical lead or individual contributor; Section Leader duties account for approximately 15-20% of the employee's time. Participate in and guide the testing of RF hardware for required performance metrics: VSWR, insertion loss, gain, polarization, radar cross section (RCS), etc. Technical Leadership Serve as a technical contributor, technical lead, or engineering manager on antenna range development, installation, and problem solving Lead or support the design, development, integration, and qualification of RF hardware. Provide technical oversight of suppliers developing antenna range hardware and ensure products meet program technical, cost, and schedule objectives. Perform or oversee RF analysis, simulation, integration, verification, troubleshooting, and qualification testing. Support design reviews, technical risk management, and root cause investigations. Collaborate closely with Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Power Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations.Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or a minimum of 8 years' prior relevant experience, to include any combination of the following: Antenna testing and measurement techniques RF hardware integration and test methods Compact antenna ranges Far field antenna ranges Near field probes Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to the start date.
