Job Description

  • Location:
  • Remote (prefer candidates located in Raleigh NC, Franklin TN, Chicago IL, Boston MA) As an Engineering Manager, you will report to the Director of Engineering and play a key role on a syllabus engineering team.

You'll lead a talented group of data and software engineers, partnering closely with product management to shape, design, and deliver innovative technology solutions that support our client's strategic goals. In this role, you'll balance hands-on contribution with team leadership—guiding initiatives from concept through deployment while fostering a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture.

  • Must Have:
  • + Python + Django + PySpark + ETL + SQL
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • + Partner with Product Management to plan releases and address technical, performance, and security needs + Lead and oversee the team's engineering processes and delivery + Assign, coordinate, and manage team priorities and workload + Communicate clearly with stakeholders on roadmaps, timelines, risks, and progress + Collaborate with engineering leadership to integrate, deploy, and operate services + Define scope, effort, and technical approach for team initiatives + Ensure strong system architecture, reliability, monitoring, and on-call practices + Advocate for the team by securing resources and supporting their success •
Required Qualifications:
  • + 5 years previous work experience in technical leadership with large-scale, growing systems.

+ 5 years of experience in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating goals, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. + 5 years of experience in preparation and development of reports, briefings, and other technical documents.
