Job Description
I. Job Summary The Sr. Quality Manager leads Quality at Tuff Torq Corporation, overseeing supplier and customer quality, warranty, ISO 9001 compliance, and internal improvements, ensuring standards align with corporate goals and exceed customer expectations. II. Essential Job Functions Primary Job Functions (70%) - Quality Departmental Functions 1. Lead daily Quality operations, including supplier quality, customer assurance, warranty analysis, and control initiatives. 2. Ensure
ISO 9001
compliance through audits, documentation, and corrective actions. 3. Manage supplier quality programs, monitor performance, and drive corrective actions. 4. Conduct customer and supplier quality presentations, visits, and reviews. 5. Lead improvements to domestic product designs for cost, quality, and performance gains. 6. Oversee warranty adjudication and analyze data to improve products and processes. 7. Monitor internal quality compliance and initiate risk-based improvements. 8. Report on quality standard changes and guide organizational adaptations. 9. Identify noncompliance risks and implement timely corrective actions. Secondary Job Functions (20%) - Hierarchical / Leadership Responsibilities 1. Lead the Quality team, providing daily guidance, setting and managing KPIs and conducting performance reviews. 2. Manage departmental budget and drive cost-saving initiatives aligned with business goals. 3. Collaborate cross-functionally and represent the Quality department in strategic initiatives to support company objectives. 4. Drive a culture of continuous improvement through education, collaboration, and root cause analysis. Common Job Functions (10%) - Alignment with Mission and Values 1. Essential Job Requirements Education- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced graduate degree in Business or Engineering is preferred. Physical Requirements and Working Environment
- Prolonged periods of desk and computer work.
- Regular walking and standing in manufacturing, warehouse, and supplier areas is expected.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and work around noise, machinery, and temperature changes.
- Occasional travel is required for supplier audits, customer visits, and training activities. Experience and Minimum Qualifications Needed
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive Quality Management experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is required.
- Strong leadership experience managing teams, initiatives, and departmental P&L responsibilities is required.
- In-depth knowledge of
ISO 9001
systems andISO 9000
requirements is required.- ASQ or CQM certifications are strongly preferred.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and methodologies is required.
- Proficiency in quality tools such as RCA, FMEA, SPC, APQP, and PPAP is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
