Job Summary
Description:

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer (QE) for a position in Grand Prairie, TX to support proposal efforts, continuous improvement efforts and strategic initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing

Responsible for several aspects of Quality including:
  • Understanding quality tasks across quality functions including hardware, software,
    systems, suppliers / sub-contractors, and customers.
  • Ability to learn proposals, Basis of Estimate (BOE) and contract review.
  • Collaborate and partner with other functions including Program Manager, Proposal Manager, Contracts, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production and Customers.
  • Support program proposals, strategic initiatives, and a variety of projects aimed at improving processes.
  • Assist in establishing quality budgets and cost commitments.
  • Participate in independent reviews including Readiness Acceptance Check (RAC), customer proposal / BOE reviews, customer negotiations, Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Technical Engineering (STEM
  • Engineering / Science) degree at the Bachelor level or above (required)
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • DOD Secret
  • Basic understanding of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Engineering roles and responsibilities across all life cycles.
  • Previous experience with collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to interpret Statement of Work, Drawings, Specifications, Contracts and other engineering requirements
  • Demonstrate ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical / process issues
  • Knowledge of dispositioning non-conforming products/ hardware
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to support all proposal activities
  • Knowledge of creating accurate, complete, correct, current and competitive Proposals / Basis of Estimate (BOE)
  • Engineering or Quality experience developing methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured products
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager and knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems
  • Knowledge of Configuration and Data Management
  • Demonstrated understanding of audits
  • Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement
  • Knowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems
  • Experience working with Government customers
  • Experience writing Proposal and Basis of Estimate (BOEs)
  • Experience in establishing Performance Metrics for identifying process improvement
  • An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Effective organizational skills, attention to details, ability to work in a dynamic environment and the ability to multi-task
  • Effective communication skills including written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing, and collaboration
  • Ability to develop solutions to problems of basic and moderate scope and complexity.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
