: Position Summary

The Test Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and sustainment of manufacturing test solutions in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment. This role manages a team of engineers and technicians while driving world-class product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Test Engineering Manager works closely with various engineering groups, manufacturing, quality, and customers to ensure reliable test solutions.

Key Responsibilities

LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Test Engineering organization.

Manage staffing, performance evaluations, training, and succession planning.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

TEST STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT
Lead the design, validation, and deployment of:

ICT (In-Circuit Test)

Functional Test (FCT)

Boundary Scan (JTAG)

Ensure test coverage meets customer quality and reliability requirements while minimizing manufacturing costs.

MANUFACTURING SUPPORT

Provide technical leadership to resolve production test failures.

Improve first-pass yield (FPY), throughput, and equipment utilization.

Analyze test data to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.

Support root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Lead Lean Manufacturing and Improvement projects on:

Test coverage

False failure rates

Cost of Test (CoT)

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Serve as the technical interface for customers regarding manufacturing test solutions.

Participate in customer design reviews and technical audits.

Support failure analysis and reliability investigations.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
Partner closely with:

Various Engineering

Quality Engineering

Operations

Customer Engineering

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

Master's degree is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

5 years of electronics manufacturing experience.

5 years of engineering leadership or management experience.

Strong background supporting EMS in SMT PCBA and system integration.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Manufacturing test development and deployment

ICT, Functional Test, Flying Probe, Boundary Scan, SLT

NI LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages

Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Design for Testability (DFT)

FMEA, DOE, GR&R, and Root Cause Analysis
