As the Project Engineering Senior Manager, you will get the unique opportunity to support a dynamic and growing business area, lead an experienced team of Project Engineers heading the technical leadership of multiple air vehicle modification and modernization programs, pursuits, special projects, and Internal Research & Development (IR D). This position will lead a team of approximately 15 Project Engineers in a growing business area and the position responsibilities include supervision, resource planning, coaching and leadership development activities.

Essential Functions:

Lead and mentor a diverse team of project engineers in support of multiple business areas to execute development, modification and modernization efforts on air vehicle platforms and systemsProvide technical mentorship and leadership coaching to Program Chief Engineers & Project Engineers, to ensure their success in meeting program objectivesProvide top-level support for proposal generation, Earned Value Management, estimates-to-complete, organizational development, strategic planning, and product and technology roadmapsActively participate in strategic and business aspects of the MMG Engineering Department that will directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional resultsEstablish a culture of Project Engineering excellence and balance the Project Engineering Department with low, medium, and highly experienced Project EngineersForecast Project Engineering Manpower needs based on Program and Potential demand forecastDetermine hiring needs and conduct searches to onboard needed Project EngineersEnsure thorough understanding of the Project Engineering role within the organizationDrive continuous improvement in engineering quality and delivery through use of metricsRecruit, develop, assess and retain Project Engineering staffEstablish performance expectations, methods, and tools for Project EngineeringSupport training and career development for Project EngineersPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.7+ years of experience in Project Engineering or Technical Project Management roleAir Vehicle and Systems Integration experienceGreat communication skillsExperience with FAA (STC) and Military (MTC) certification activities preferredExperience with process improvement e.g. CMMI and Six-SigmaExperience building strong relationships and effectively partnering with internal and external resources; customer focusedProficient in technical project management and technical estimatingProficient in risk identification, risk analysis and contingency planningWorking knowledge within a relevant technical field (e.g., Aero-Mechanical, Aero-Electrical, Systems Engineering, Structural, Stress, Mass Properties, Aerodynamics, Software, etc.)Must be a US Citizen with a DoD Security Clearance (Secret minimum).

Preferred Additional Skills:
