SCHEDULING MANAGER

Mission Critical / Data Center Construction San Antonio, Texas Our client is one of the most prestigious General Contractors in the United States and is expanding its mission-critical construction operations in San Antonio, Texas . We are seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager with a proven track record managing complex schedules for large-scale mission-critical and data center projects . THE OPPORTUNITY

The Scheduling Manager will provide leadership and technical expertise for project scheduling throughout the entire project lifecycle-from pursuit and preconstruction through construction, commissioning, substantial completion, and final turnover. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing and managing CPM schedules for large-scale data centers or other mission-critical facilities , with the ability to identify schedule risk, drive accountability, and develop recovery strategies when projects encounter challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage scheduling activities for major mission-critical/data center projects in the San Antonio market . Develop, maintain, and manage detailed CPM baseline and forecast schedules using Primavera P6. Lead scheduling from RFP/project launch through substantial completion and final turnover . Collaborate closely with Preconstruction, Estimating, VDC/BIM, Procurement, Commissioning, Field Operations, Project Management, and Project Executives. Develop project execution plans and integrate schedule requirements into overall project strategy. Monitor baseline schedules, critical path activities, milestones, manpower, procurement, commissioning, and forecast completion dates. Develop monthly schedule updates, narratives, look-ahead schedules, and executive-level scheduling reports. Utilize 4D/VDC/BIM, logistics planning, Lean Construction, Takt, and Last Planner System methodologies where appropriate. Develop cost- and resource-loaded schedules and monitor productivity and earned-value metrics. Conduct schedule risk assessments, gap analysis, and schedule audits. Identify potential delays and develop recovery, acceleration, and what-if scenarios . Analyze schedule impacts associated with change orders, RFIs, procurement delays, design changes, weather, and unforeseen field conditions. Support Time Impact Analysis and potential schedule-claim documentation. Work directly with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership to maintain schedule alignment. Participate in project and site meetings and conduct field walks to validate schedule progress. Provide scheduling expertise during business development and proposal efforts. Train project teams in scheduling practices, planning tools, and the company's Scheduling Playbook. Support development and implementation of scheduling standards, dashboards, metrics, and reporting systems. Mentor and develop scheduling personnel as the San Antonio mission-critical operation continues to grow.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered. 8+ years of construction scheduling experience , preferably on large-scale commercial or mission-critical projects. MUST have significant data center / mission-critical construction experience. Experience with projects valued at $100M+ strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 . Experience with Acumen Fuse / Schedule Analyzer / Change Inspector or comparable schedule forensic tools. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, and project delivery methodologies. Demonstrated knowledge of construction sequencing, productivity, manpower planning, procurement, commissioning, and turnover. Experience developing and analyzing critical path schedules. Understanding of earned value, production metrics, resource loading, and cost-loaded schedules. Knowledge of Lean Construction, Takt Planning, Last Planner System, and other advanced planning methodologies. Ability to identify schedule risk and develop practical mitigation and recovery strategies. Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills. Ability to influence project teams and subcontractors without direct authority. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. High level of emotional intelligence and the ability to operate effectively with owners, executives, project teams, and field personnel.
