full-time Transmission Planning Engineer San Antonio, TX (Hybrid, Open to Relocation) $120,000 - $140,000 + Benefits A fast-growing, Texas-based utility-scale solar and battery storage developer is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer to join a lean, high-impact interconnection and planning team supporting a rapidly expanding project pipeline across ERCOT and MISO. This team doesn't separate interconnection from transmission planning the way most organizations do, you'll get exposure across both disciplines from day one, working directly alongside senior engineers and leadership on projects that move from development straight through to construction. What you'll do Support power flow modeling, interconnection analyses, and utility coordination across a portfolio of utility-scale solar and storage projects Assist with transmission analysis to evaluate constraints, congestion, curtailment risk, and basis risk Help prepare interconnection applications and study data for submission Track project schedules and milestones alongside senior team members Get involved in single-line diagram development and interconnection facility design What you'll bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Some hands-on experience with PowerWorld, PSSE, PLEXOS, or TARA Exposure to ERCOT and/or MISO interconnection processes is a plus, but not essential, the right attitude matters more than a perfect market match Strong communication skills and a genuine appetite to learn and take on responsibility quickly A collaborative mindset - this is not a role for someone who wants to stay behind a screen Why this role Broad exposure across both interconnection and transmission planning Direct line of sight to senior leadership and real influence on live projects, not just support work A close-knit, collaborative, high-energy team culture where every voice is heard Genuine progression track, this organization actively promotes from within as the pipeline grows Competitive benefits package including health/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and PTO Interested?
