Job Description:

Senior Electrical Project Manager - Transmission & Substation ???? Tacoma, WA (Travel to project sites required) A well-established power and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead transmission, substation, and distribution projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong high-voltage power experience who has successfully managed complex projects, subcontractors, and prime contracts - particularly in federal or government environments .

The Role:

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of electrical infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, subcontractor oversight, and project closeout.

Projects include:

High-voltage transmission line construction Substation construction and upgrades Distribution and pole replacement/makeready work Utility and government infrastructure projects This role requires strong leadership, financial management, and contract administration experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage prime contracts , subcontracts, and purchase orders Oversee project planning, scheduling, procurement, and execution Lead subcontractor coordination and field operations Track budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards Conduct regular client and project stakeholder meetings Manage change orders and contract modifications Provide project performance reporting and financial updates Mentor junior staff and support team development

What We're Looking For:

5+ years of Project Management experience in power infrastructure Strong background in: Transmission lines Substations Distribution systems Pole replacement or makeready work Experience working for an electrical contractor or EPC firm (not utility-side preferred) Experience managing subcontractors and prime contracts Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in T&D construction Experience with estimating, scheduling, and budgeting Federal or government project experience strongly preferred Strong leadership and communication skills
