Engineering Manager (Permanent) Working Location Manchester Contract Type Permanent Salary £80,000
  • £85,000 + Bonus + Medical Key Responsibilities Lead design and engineering delivery across water and wastewater treatment projects Oversee the full project lifecycle
  • surveys, design development, construction, commissioning, and handover Work closely with civil, process, electrical, and health & safety teams to ensure integrated delivery Guide procurement and equipment selection, factoring lead times into the project programme Coordinate external designers and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project objectives and quality standards Carry out site visits to monitor progress and resolve technical issues Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle Ensure consistent health, safety, and environmental compliance across delivery Prepare project reports and status updates, flagging key risks and milestones Feed lessons learned into continuous improvement across the business Requirements Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline Chartered Engineer status, or working towards, preferred Strong commercial acumen•comfortable managing design budgets, timelines, and resources Confident collaborating across multiple disciplines in a multidisciplinary environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving technical issues In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly in water and wastewater Proficiency with information management systems and design software such as AutoCAD or Revit Work Schedule Full-time About the Role If you are an Engineering Manager who wants genuine ownership of design and delivery across a live water and wastewater portfolio, this is a role focused on real technical leadership within a growing design-and-build workload.
