Position Summary:
Controls Engineer is responsible for controls engineering, programming and service support for commercial control projects. Respond to customer needs by identifying system and product solutions. Assist customers in answering technical control questions. Conduct customer visits, events and training sessions with mechanical engineers, mechanical contractors and building owners. Communicate project changes to team members and customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical sales support to engineers, contractors and building owners Provide controls training to mechanical engineers, contractors, and owners Generate controls proposals that include a detailed scope of work based on project sequence of operations, specification, and drawings in accordance with division standards Create sequence of operations, select bill of materials as well as develop comprehensive bid strategies, design network layouts and produce electrical schematics Perform programming on system and network-level controllers Gather project design changes from the field team and create as-built drawings Follow department marketing strategies, policies, and procedures Create application notes, technical papers, service notes, and training documentation
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer controls technical support calls Adhere to safety standards with a high degree of regard towards employee and subcontractor safety
Critical Knowledge and Skills:
Read architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints Understanding of mechanical systems and basic electrical knowledge Experience with installing programming and commissioning HVAC controllers Understand construction documentation, procedures and construction processes Proficient at using drafting software applications Communicate effectively and work in a team environment Good judgment, planning and multi-tasking skills
Education and Experience:
BS degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related career field 2+ years related experience in the HVAC industry
Expected Pay Range:
Starting at $75,000 annum; range is flexible depending on relevant experience.
