Job Description
A growing hospitality management company is seeking an experienced Corporate Chief Engineer to provide strategic engineering support across a portfolio of branded select-service hotels. This confidential opportunity is ideal for a seasoned hotel engineering professional who excels at coaching teams, improving operational performance, ensuring compliance, and partnering with hotel leadership to maintain high-quality facilities and guest satisfaction. This position is a corporate support role that works collaboratively with on-property General Managers and Chief Engineers to provide technical expertise, operational guidance, and engineering leadership across the portfolio. Responsibilities Provide operational oversight and support for engineering departments across a portfolio of approximately 35 hotels. Conduct routine property visits to evaluate maintenance programs, building systems, and compliance with company and brand standards. Develop and monitor preventative maintenance programs. Assist hotel leadership with troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building system issues. Oversee life safety compliance, including fire/life safety systems, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements. Partner with Operations and Finance on capital expenditure planning, renovations, and major repair projects. Develop engineering budgets and assist with cost-control initiatives. Ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, and applicable safety regulations. Mentor, train, and develop on-property Chief Engineers and maintenance teams. Evaluate vendor performance and assist with contractor selection and project oversight. Support new hotel transitions, acquisitions, renovations, and property improvement plans (PIPs). Travel extensively throughout the portfolio as business needs require. Qualifications Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive hotel engineering experience. Multi-property or corporate engineering experience strongly preferred. Previous experience as a Chief Engineer within a branded hotel environment. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, life safety systems, and preventative maintenance programs. Experience managing capital projects, renovations, and vendor relationships. Excellent leadership, coaching, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects across numerous locations. Proficiency with hotel maintenance systems and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
