Overview Looking for an exciting opportunity to grow your engineering career in hospitality? Key West Historic Inns is seeking a motivated, dependable, and skilled Engineer I to join our Engineering team. If you enjoy troubleshooting, performing hands-on repairs, and taking pride in maintaining beautiful boutique hotels, this is the perfect opportunity for you. As an Engineer I, you will perform preventive maintenance, respond to guest room maintenance requests, and assist with the repair and upkeep of hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems. Working closely with the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager, you will help ensure our hotels remain safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently while delivering prompt, professional service to both guests and fellow team members. Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field preferred.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of hotel, commercial building, institutional, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical systems, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
- EPA certification, HVAC certification, or other trade certifications are preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Must meet the minimum age requirement of the jurisdiction.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as business needs require.
