This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, engineers, you will support the Enterprise Maintenance team in all aspects of maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and asset life-cycle management. This role is responsible for ensuring that critical equipment and systems remain operational, safe, and capable of supporting our mission. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to operational excellence in a highly dynamic environment. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance (PM) programs for mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment failures; coordinate and lead corrective maintenance efforts to restore operations with minimal downtime.
Serve as the technical lead for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on production machinery and tooling.
Author and maintain maintenance procedures, work instructions, and equipment documentation in accordance with Blue Origin standards.
Manage work orders through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate documentation of labor, parts, and findings..
Identify recurring equipment failures and initiate root cause analysis (RCA); implement corrective actions to eliminate repeat failures.
Evaluate and specify spare parts requirements; collaborate with MRO inventory and procurement teams to ensure critical parts availability.
Oversee and provide technical direction to maintenance technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
Support capital improvement projects including equipment installations, modifications, and decommissioning.
Participate in safety reviews, hazard analyses, equipment design reviews and qualification activities as required.
Track maintenance KPIs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5-10 years of hands-on maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs.
Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Maximo or equivalent).
Strong working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Experience leading root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions.
Familiarity with OSHA standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and other industrial safety requirements.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies is a plus (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
