Job Title:
Maintenance Engineer Job Description The Maintenance Engineer I is tasked with ensuring equipment reliability, system uptime, and maintenance excellence within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is pivotal in owning theSAP CMMS
platform, leading system improvements, maintenance optimization projects, preventive maintenance programs, calibration activities, and managing spare parts. Responsibilities Execute and optimize preventive maintenance and calibration procedures. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Manage critical spare parts inventory. Support maintenance shop operations. Troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Facilities, MSAT, and Engineering teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives and reliability analysis. Update documents within MasterControl. Essential Skills Proficiency inSAP CMMS
for work order management and preventive maintenance planning. Hands-on experience in improving PM and calibration programs within regulated environments. Ability to troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment and analyze reliability data. Experience in authoring and revising controlled documentation in MasterControl or equivalent QMS platforms. Understanding of GMP, GDP, QMS, and regulatory compliance. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field. Experience with automated manufacturing equipment in regulated industries such as Medical Device, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical. Knowledge of preventive maintenance strategy development and optimization. Experience with spare parts inventory control and Kanban systems. Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration abilities. Work Environment The role operates within a biotech/medical manufacturing environment supporting production operations. It involves a combination of work on the manufacturing floor, cleanrooms, laboratories, and maintenance shops. The position requires hands-on support of automated manufacturing equipment, calibration systems, and facility assets. Daily use of SAP CMMS and MasterControl documentation systems is essential. The work schedule is first-shift, supporting ongoing operational and maintenance activities within a highly regulated GMP/QMS environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
