We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Building Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities team, supporting our vital healthcare education client. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the continuous and efficient operation of essential building systems—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems—that are paramount to patient care, comfort, and safety. Your expertise in preventative maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and effective repair will ensure a safe, compliant, and high-functioning facility, directly impacting the quality of care. This full-time position offers a consistent Monday-Friday 2nd shift, providing a stable routine for your professional life. Given the nature of healthcare, you will also participate in an on-call rotation to address urgent maintenance issues outside of regular hours, ensuring uninterrupted facility operation and prompt response to critical situations. What You'll Do Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned. Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. Maintain an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner. Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform emergency repairs as needed. Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Review inspection to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client. Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
